Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I and/or my children need to be Catholic? A: No. Holy Childhood School welcomes students and parents of many different faiths. Over 15% of our student population during the 2009-2010 school year was non-Catholic.
Q: How much is tuition, and are scholarships available? A: Holy Childhood School is very fortunate to have an extremely supportive parish. Our tuition rates are among the lowest in the archdiocese of Minneapolis and St. Paul; this is made possible through the generous donations of our parishioners and our Michael Hawkins Scholarship Fund. Click here to view current tuition rates for grades PreK-8.
Q: Does Holy Childhood provide Extended Day Care options? A: Yes! Parents may utilize our extended care services as seldom as once a year or as often as every day. The morning program begins at 6:45 a.m. and runs until the doors open for the regular school day at 8:15 a.m. The afternoon program begins at the end of the school day (3:05 p.m.) and runs until 5:30 p.m. Click here for program fees.
Q: Does the school have a hot lunch program? A: Yes! Hot lunch is available every school day, except on early dismissal days. The price of a hot lunch is $2.30 per day. Milk for grades PreK-8 is a flat rate of $12.00 per year. Students may also purchase an additional entrée item for .75 cents (extra pizza is $1.00). A lunch schedule is sent home with the monthly newsletter, and is also available on the website.
Q: When does registration occur? A: Registration for the 2010-2011 school year opens on January 26th, 2010 for all grades, prek through grade 8. Click here to download the registration form for PreK-8. The school also holds a Back to School Registration Night in late August. Please feel free to contact the school office with questions regarding registration: (651) 644-2791.
Q: Is bussing provided? A: Yes. Contact the school office with any questions regarding bussing: (651) 644-2791
Q: How often do students receive religious instruction? A: Our faith is an integral part of our lives. Students receive religious instruction every day, and attend all school Mass once a week.
Q: Does Holy Childhood School have a uniform code? A: Yes. Students in grades K-8 all wear uniforms, but prek students do NOT wear uniforms. Holy Childhood has a uniform exchange program where parents can pick out free shirts, pants, skirts, jumpers, and sweatshirts for their students to wear, and then trade them in for larger sizes once their children grow out of them. Uniforms may also be purchased at Donald’s Uniform Supply Co. Click Here for more information regarding our uniform policy.
